Arjun Rampal calls assault allegation 'fake news'

The actor allegedly threw a camera flashlight in the crowd which hit a Delhi man.

Arjun Rampal has denied allegations of assaulting a man at a night club.

According to reports, the Rock On 2 (2016) actor allegedly threw a camera flashlight in the crowd that hit a Delhi businessmen named Shobit at a nightclub in Lutyens, New Delhi. The actor took to Twitter to deny the allegation.

A spokesperson from the nightclub (Privee), too, rubbished the story. "We can't comment what may have occured outside, but nothing like this happened in our club. This news is completely fake."

The 24-year-old Delhi businessmen, a resident of Shalimar Bagh in west Delhi, has filed a complaint against the actor for intentionally throwing the flashlight at him.

“The complainant said he was on the dance floor at Privee last [Saturday] night when the actor suddenly threw the flashlight intentionally at him. He sustained an injury on the forehead. A medical examination has been conducted,” deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi) BK Singh told The Hindu newspaper.

According to Shobit, no case has been filed against the actor yet. The Delhi police is currently probing the matter.
