There is no Banjo party happening this week at the box-office as the Ritiesh Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri-starrer could collect a dismal Rs1.25 crore on its opening day. Despite reasonable marketing efforts, the Eros International production had a poor opening at the box-office, reported BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Meanwhile, trade analyst Taran Adarsh pegged Banjo's opening figure at Rs1.72 crore.

With over 1,500 screens and a budget of Rs30 crore (approximate)  Banjo will need a a stark improvement over the weekend to have any chance of recovering its cost.

Meanwhile, Parched, co-produced by Ajay Devgn, has largely received positive reviews, but the film fared poorly bagging a shocking Rs10 lakh on its opening day. Parched is distributed by Reliance Entertainment, and the shocking opening day collection doesn’t spell great news for all the producers.

Comedy film Days of Tafree fared equally badly with Rs15 lakh in its kitty on its opening day. With such meagre collections, the fate of these low-budget films is as good as sealed.

The new releases were disappointing, but the biggest winner on Friday was Amitabh Bachchan’s Pink which bagged Rs3 crore on its second Friday. The film has been declared an average hit with its net collection now nearing the Rs40-crore mark. Pink’s eight-day domestic collection now stands at Rs38.91 crore (approximate).
