The rise and rise of Priyanka Chopra has taken everyone in India, and abroad, by surprise. Currently, Chopra's position among the reigning queens of Hindi cinema is unchallenged. However, the director of Sunny Leone-starrer, Beiiman Love, disagrees.
Speaking to a national daily, director Rajeev Chaudhary said he believed that Leone was just as talented as Chopra or Deepika Padukone. He said, "Why not Sunny Leone? I think she has all the talent to become a mainstream heroine. She has the Indian look. I watched her films like Jism 2 and Ragini MMS. I was so convinced that she definitely deserves much better than what she is doing."
Beiiman Love is an erotic thriller starring Leone and Rajneesh Duggall, and will also be the acting debut of Leone's husband, Daniel Weber.
Speaking of the film, the director said, "I prepared the script for Sunny. Sunny liked the script and we tried to give the film a different look. Sunny is different in this film. She is not the same Sunny what you have been seeing till now. She performed very well in all her films and in this film too. But in this film, she has done something out of the box. She has done a substantial job which is going to become a new track for her. That’s what I feel." The director went on to state, "This is Sunny’s best performance till date. She has acted tremendously as good as Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone. She has done justice to the role. She is fantastic. You’ll watch her soon."
There are many in the industry who might disagree with the director, but it certainly spells good things for Leone. The actress is slowly beginning to grow in popularity, but needs a good film to really make it for her.
Beiiman Love is set to release on 30 September, on the same day as MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.
