Emraan Hashmi fans were left worried after a prominent tabloid reported that the actor was down with malaria.

We called up up the actor's spokesperson who rubbished the malaria theory. "I think it was miscommunication on the part of someone in Delhi. Emraan was down with a viral infection, and was unable to honour his media commitments for the final promotions in Delhi. He was left with no option, but to cancel his media interviews," said an official spokesperson of Hashmi.

Hashmi has been actively promoting Raaz Reboot which releases tomorrow (16 September). Hashmi was in the capital city few days ago, but was laid low by viral infection.

Meanwhile, in yet another instance of a false tale, director Vikram Bhatt and Hashmi have confirmed that their film was not leaked online. Hashmi tweeted about the same and urged fans to watch the film in theatres anyway.

Hashmi's career has hit huge roadblock with as many as nine successive flops. Ironically, his last hit was Raaz 3D and the actor will hope that Raaz Reboot helps reboot his career.
