Is the move sexist in nature?
Munna Michael actress Niddhi Agerwal signs ‘no dating clause,’ Tiger Shroff spared

Tiger Shroff’s Munna Michael was in the news when it was announced since the film aims to pay tribute to the late king of pop, Michael Jackson. It went on floors last weekend. Directed by Sabbir Khan, the film marks the debut of Bengaluru model, Niddhi Agerwal.
But there is something about the film that might raise many eyebrows across the nation. The makers of the film have come up with a clause which is unheard of. The filmmakers have imposed a ‘no-dating clause’ on Agerwal. It means that she isn’t allowed to date anyone until the film completes shooting. The actress too was surprised. But she says she doesn’t have a problem with it whatsoever.
Talking to a publication, she said, “I had to read it (the contract) twice over to believe it, but I don’t really have a problem. I understand that the intention is that they want 100% dedication from me. Not like I have a life beyond work in any case.”
She added, “My understanding of it is that the makers have included the clause because dating a co-star has become an easy publicity exercise for production houses. It takes the focus away from the film. Now, I can put my phone away and practice for four hours without worrying about who’s calling me. It is a matter of five-six months and I am okay with it.”
But surprisingly, the ‘no-dating’ clause doesn’t apply to Shroff. It seems that the actor is spared from it because there are talks of him dating actress Disha Patani. While the terms reek of sexism, producer Viki Rajani was quick to deny it. He justified it saying that Shroff had been spared since he is already a star and that Agerwal had signed the contract willingly.
