Rock On 2 song: Farhan Akhtar and Shraddha Kapoor's Magik might be old, but it's got punch

The title track is a throwback to the prequel's Magik number, bringing back memories of what made the film so popular.

Rock On 2's latest track captures the nostalgic value that makes the sequel worth visiting for fans. Farhan Akhtar, Purab Kohli, and Arjun Rampal return as members of the band, Magik, with Shraddha Kapoor for company. The composition by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is a reminder of that brilliant title track from the prequel that fired the album to the top of the charts.

Though the tempo of the music might leave some fans disappointed, it certainly does not lack the 'rock' punch. The hard bass of Shashank Arora's guitar and Purab Kohli's drumming add to the feel of the video. Akhtar and Kapoor's voices sound in tune for the song, while Arjun Rampal throws it down with some stylish guitar play. If the headbanging doesn't catch your eye, the style quotient of the cast in the video certainly will. From leather jackets to beards and denim shirts, the team certainly looks like they can rock it on stage.

The most captivating sight is that of the team's visage rising over the maximum city. Mumbai is the hero of the song, with the faces of Akhtar and Kapoor superimposed on skyscrapers, mills, and the buses too. The song might not be the pick of the album, but it certainly has the nostalgia going for it.

Rock On 2 is directed by Shujaat Saudagar and is expected to release on 11 November 2016.
