It was a row that not only robbed Nawazuddin Siddiqui of his childhood dream, but also projected the country in poor light. However, the furore created by a few Shiv Sena members in Budhana over not allowing Nawazuddin Siddiqui to participate in the traditional Ram Leela stage performance has not amused Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray, son of Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray.

The 26-year-old politician expressed surprise over the actions of a few members of his party in the western Uttar Pradesh town.

The Thackeray heir posted this tweet condemning the action by his party members.

Shiv Sena district head Mukesh Sharma (Budhana) had raised the issue of Siddiqui being invited to play a part in the traditional Hindu drama. Sharma requested the local police to ask the Ram Leela committee to drop Siddiqui from the play. Fearing trouble, the organisers dropped the actor who had been assigned the role of Mareech in the play based on Ram's life.
