After the success of Neeraj Pandey’s Baby (2015), the film led to a prequel which is currently filming and sequel which is already in the works. Starring Taapsee Pannu who played the breakout character Priya in the original, Naam Shabana will most likely show Priya’s ascension to becoming a top agent in the country.
Pannu shared the first poster of the film which shows her character off the side, while a faint visual of Akshay Kumar who played Ajay Singh Rajput is seen to her left. She shared the poster with the word, "Humne rumaal rakh diya hai!!"
The superstar, who has a cameo in the film, congratulated his Baby co-star Pannu for her own film.

Pannu responded to Kumar’s kind words. She has been reportedly training hard in mixed martial arts and the Japanese martial arts of Aikido.
Naam Shabana, directed by Shivam Nair, is set to go up against Anushka Sharma’s home production, Phillauri, which will feature the actress-producer in a strong role herself. Both films will release on 31 March 2017.
