Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapsee Pannu paired with Varun Dhawan in Judwaa 2

The Dishoom and Pink actresses are joining the popular remake of the 1997 comedy hit starring Salman Khan.

After Dishoom (2016), Jacqueline Fernandez will join Varun Dhawan again in his upcoming Judwaa remake directed by his father, David Dhawan. Actress Taapsee Pannu who earlier acted in David’s 2013 remake of Chashme Baddoor will play Varun’s other love interest.

The two actresses step into the roles played by Karisma Kapoor and Rambha who acted opposite Salman Khan in the original. The 1997 film was inspired by Jackie Chan’s Twin Dragons (1992). Khan played twin brothers, Raja and Prem, separated at birth who meet each other as adults.

Varun, a self-confessed Khan fan, will work with his father again after Main Tera Hero (2014). He announced the casting of the film’s two heroines on Twitter saying, “It's OFFICIAL.@taapsee and @Asli_Jacqueline with the 2 of me #Judwaa2.”

Co-stars Fernandez and Pannu, who are both enjoying a stellar 2016 with the successful release of their respective films, Housefull 3 and Pink, responded to the news of their casting online as well.

Judwaa 2 will release on 29 September 2017 and will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner Nadiadwala Grandsons.
