In probably the casting coup of the decade, Ranveer Singh and Salman Khan may come together for the fourth instalment of the Dhoom franchise.
According to a report in DNA, Yash Raj Films is keen to cast Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh for Dhoom Reloaded. That is not all. Buzz has it that Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, who have been featured in all Dhoom films so far, may no longer be associated with the franchise.
Salman Khan has never shied away from the fact that he is keen to play an out-and-out villain. And the buzz is that Yash Raj Films is in talks with the superstar to play the baddie in Dhoom Reloaded. Vijay Krishna Acharya, who directed Dhoom 3 (2013) , is likely to helm the new film as well.
Ranveer Singh’s stock has been rising since his powerful performance in Bajirao Mastani (2015). The star was a Yash Raj Films discovery, having begun his career with Band Bajaa Baraat (2010). He has done three films so far with YRF, and the upcoming Befikre is his fourth under the banner. However, with the exception of his debut film Band Bajaa Baraat, his other films with Yash Raj -- Ladies v/s Ricky Behl (2011) and Kill Dill (2014) -- turned out to be duds.
Salman Khan has done just one film with Yash Raj, but EK Tha Tiger (2012) turned out be a blockbuster. Khan may take up Dhoom provided some of his demands are met. An industry source suggested that like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, too, may seek a share in profits.
Dhoom is a very successful franchise for Yash Raj Films with the third edition grossing over Rs300 crore worldwide. John Abhraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan, respectively, have played the antagonist in the first three films. Among actresses, the franchise has featured stars like Bipasha Basu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Katrina Kaif.
