The highlight of the 17th IIFA awards function at Madrid, Spain, was the surprising chemistry between Fawad Khan and Deepika Padukone on stage. Hosting a special segment at the function, the Pakistani heartthrob was at his charming best when challenged by Karan Johar to woo Padukone on stage.
Not one to be cowed down, Khan charmingly got down on his knees and read out the lyrics to the Aradhana classic 'Roop Tera Mastana'. In turn, when Padukone was asked to rate the actor, she, too, got down on her knees and proposed to him on stage.
This charming scene created quite a buzz on social media with fans of both stars sending out requests to cast them in a romantic movie.
One of Padukone's fan clubs online was quick to post this image on Instagram.

Twitter was not far behind with tweets of this fashion making the grade.
Padukone looked visibly impressed at this gesture by her co-anchor.
Meanwhile, Padukone's Bajirao Mastani co-star and current beau Ranveer Singh had declared her to be the 'Mastani' to his 'Bajirao' during his award acceptance speech. With Fawad Khan in the fray, Singh might just need to take it up a notch.
