IIFA buzz: Priyanka set to sing on stage, Deepika roots for Ranveer, Salman is chilling

When so many major stars are together for the IIFA weekend, there is bound to tons of buzz. All the stars are busy rehearsing for their performances. While Sonakshi Sinha is excited about her tribute to Sridevi, Priyanka Chopra is nervous as she is all set to sing live on stage for the first time. Which songs she is going to croon is still a mystery. The actor though found some time to meet with her fans and have a fun impromptu chat session with the media.

Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, will be performing to her songs from Bajirao Mastani. Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar have been working hard to get their hosting gags right.

Now, for some gossip! Apparently, Hrithik Roshan avoided attending the press conference at the kick off of IIFA as he wanted to stay away from Salman Khan. Hrithik and Salman’s long-drawn cold war continues. But Hrithik is having a great time with his kids, Hrehaan and Hridhaan, in Madrid. The trio went to the local zoo and clicked loads of pictures. 

Well, there was also some more avoiding happening with Shahid and Priyanka. The exes shared the stage but didn’t even exchange a formal hello in front of the media. The duo stayed professional though, and Shahid was also seen smiling when Priyanka was addressing the press. Guess, they didn't want to make headlines by being all pally on a public platform. Hope the duo manages to break the ice at the actual awards show when Farhan and Shahid play their gags. 

Ranveer Singh, who is shooting in Paris for his film Befikre, may arrive for the award show at the very last minute. But girlfriend Deepika, who looked gorgeous in a black gown at the IIFA technical awards, was seen rooting for him. When asked 'who should win the best actor award - Salman or Ranveer?', Deepika picked Ranveer without any hesitation. "Ranveer, any day! And he truly truly deserves it," she said.

While Shilpa Shetty performed at the technical awards, Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover were show stoppers for Vikram Phadnis' show. The recently wed couple were also seen dancing together on the red carpet.

There also loads of hanging out happening. While Ameesha Patel was busy mingling with Sanjay Dutt, Salman, Neil Nitin Mukesh and others, Nargis Fakhri and Frieda Pinto, who had appeared together on Koffee With Karan, were spotted chatting over dinner.

IIFA 2016 is being held in the Madrid, Spain, from 23 June to 26 June.
