He launched her film career with the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg. And since then Sonakshi Sinha has looked upon Salman Khan as a mentor. But nothing is forever.

The buzz now is that the superstar is upset with Sinha for having turned down his brother Arbaaz Khan's production, Dolly Ki Doli (2015). The role eventually went to Sonam Kapoor, who did a fine job. But the film was not a hit.

Result: Salman Khan reportedly does not want Sonakshi Sinha for Dabangg 3.

Rumour has it that Khan had a showdown with Sinha at his sister Arpita’s wedding in November 2014, and since then, the two have not been on talking terms.

Though Khan was the star of Dabangg, Sinha, too, was widely praised for her role as Rajjo and featured in Dabangg 2 (2012) as well.

Arbaaz Khan, who produced and directed the second film, was quoted as saying in April that shooting for Dabangg 3 will only begin in 2017 as elder brother Salman Khan has other commitments till then.

After Sultan, which released on Eid yesterday, Salman Khan has a couple of other projects lined up – Kabir Khan's Tubelight and a film with Sooraj Barjatya. It remains to be seen which one he takes up first.

Back in 2012, while promoting Dabangg 2, Salman Khan had claimed that Dabangg 3 would be a prequel, which would show how Chulbul Pandey became, well, The Chulbul Pandey. Given that he is 50 now, Khan would need to work really hard to try and turn the clock back to a younger Chulbul Pandey on screen.

Sonakshi Sinha has not delivered a hit since the 2014 action thriller Holiday (2014) with Akshay Kumar.
