It is that time of the year again when a Salman Khan movie is released. The much anticipated Yash Raj Films production Sultan saw the light of day on the Eid holiday today. The film, in which the superstar is paired with Anushka Sharma, tells the tale of a wrestler who fights back after being down and out in life and in sport.

As expected, Sultan got a positive opening at the box office. A good number of people turned up as early as 8 am for the first day first show at Mumbai’s PVR Sion theatre. We spoke to some of them to know their take on the film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Here is a snap audience poll on Sultan:

Randeep Singh: The movie was very impressive. I wasn’t expecting it to be so good.

Rajat Singh: Sultan is a great entertainer. A must-watch. I loved Salman Khan’s acting. The story is very good. They have given a positive message through the subject of blood bank.

Arif Shaikh: It’s a 'timepass' movie. I liked it. It can be seen once.

Sunil: Sultan is a very good movie. I enjoyed the fight scenes. Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma have performed well.

Sachin Magare: Sultan is superb. It’s going to be a superhit.

Mamta Nathani: It was a very good movie. I liked Salman Khan and also liked the film.

Kalpesh Jani: It was an awesome movie. I think it will be a blockbuster. I think Rs 200 crore will be too less a target for it. It is very interesting; not boring at all. Both Salman and Anushka have done well.

Akshay Bilawa: It was superb. Very, very good. I loved Salman’s performance. I also liked the actor who played Salman’s partner.

Anju Obhan: It was too good. Salman is as expected good. But the film too was very well made. Direction was good.

Prerna Obhan: Salman was good. Anushka was very bad. They shouldn’t have signed her. I think the new actor who played Salman’s right-hand was amazing. Amit Sadh too has done well.

Chirag Obhan: Salman Khan is always good. But the movie too was awesome.
