Veteran actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan broke his leg after he slipped on the stairs in his office. The 61-year-old was admitted to Apollo hospital in Chennai.
Sources close to the actor said he slipped on the stairs in his office and suffered a minor fracture. His condition is stable.
No sooner did news of Haasan breaking his leg spread than fans and well-wishers took to social media to wish him a speedy recovery.
The injury is likely to prevent Haasan from attending the London International Film Festival this weekend, where he was to receive a Lifetime Achievement award.
The actor has been shooting for his next film, the bilingual Sabash Naidu.
