What Akshay Kumar thinks about Airlift  

Airlift hits screens this week, and the lead actor recently spoke to the press about the film. He said, "Nikkhil Advani shared the idea of Airlift with me and I was floored by the script. It was an instant yes!" Apparently, Advani and Kumar evaluated a diverse array of subjects, among which was a documentary-like concept note about the Indian government which, along with Air India and a few brave men, evacuated 170,000 people and brought them back to their motherland safely. Apparently, this created the record for the world's largest evacuation ever and even found an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records. 

Kumar says he Googled this and found very few articles about it, which prompted him to listen to the script. He adds that he instantly felt Airlift could be a film with a big heart. It had to be told in the right manner and made to connect with a wider population.
