Kapoor and Kapur will come together after their runaway hit Aashiqui 2, while the film will also see Shaad Ali and AR Rahman collaborate after Saathiya.

The trailer of OK Jaanu gives a sense of Befikre in the way it shows the changing dynamics of relationships in current times. Amit (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Ridhima (Shraddha Kapoor) don't want to marry, but would like to live-in before they leave for different parts of the world for better prospects.
Befikre's Dharam and Shyra had similar shades, but that's where the similarities end.
Director Shaadi Ali and music maestro AR Rahman have reunited after Saathiya (2002) with a promise to unfold a musically rich extravaganza in the form of Ok Jaanu. Gulzar has penned the lyrics and dialogues for the film. It also marks the return of former rumoured lovers Kapoor and Kapur after their runaway hit Aasqhiqui 2 (2013).
Amit and Ridhima want to enjoy a healthy relationship before Amit leaves for the U.S. to give "Mark Zuckerberg a run for his money" and Ridhima heads to Paris to learn architecture. Naseeruddin Shah plays philosopher and guide to the lovers who don't want to be tied down by marriage. Like in Aashiqui, where a tiff over careers is the main point of conflict, OK Jaanu sees Ridhima face the tough question: "What's more important for you?"
The other striking feature of the trailer is the portrayal of the iconic locales on Mumbai like the CST and Bandra-Worli Sealink. Ali's Saathiya touched a chord with Mumbaikars for the story set in the city. OK Jaanu is likely to refresh those memories.
The film is a remake of the Mani Ratnam’s 2015 Tamil film OK Kanmani, which starred Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen. Dharma Productions had acquired the rights for the same with Ratnam’s Madras Talkies also co-producing the remake. OK Jaanu is set to be released on 13 January 2017.
