With all his legal troubles behind him, Sanjay Dutt is set to begin a new chapter in his career. The actor had confirmed on his birthday that his next film is titled Marco Bhau and will be made by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

The buzz now is that Dutt could be paired with Madhuri Dixit in this film. Today's generation may not know this, but Dutt and Dixit were once linked romantically and the rumour mills said they were keen to be bound in holy matrimony, but Dutt’s prolonged brush with the law and multiple stints in prison forced Dixit to call it off.

Dixit went on to marry California-based doctor Shriram Nene in 1999. Dutt, who was already married once in the 1980s to actress Richa Sharma, tied the knot twice more, once with model Rhea Pillai and then with actress Manyata (earlier Dilnawaz Sheikh), with whom he has two children now, in 2008.

The Dhak Dhak girl, as Dixit was known after her turn in the 1992 hit Beta, and Munna Bhai were last seen together in Mahaanta (1997). Before that, the duo starred in hits like Khal Nayak (1993) and Saajan (1991).

Following her return to India along with her husband and two sons in 2011, Madhuri Dixit has tried to make a comeback in films, but hasn't met with much success. She was last seen in director Soumik Sen’s female-orientated film Gulaab Gang (2014). Since then, Dixit has mainly appeared as a judge on television dance reality shows.

Meanwhile, before going to jail, Dutt was seen in a cameo in Rajkumar Hirani’s PK (2014).
