Having worked on his maiden Indo-Chinese co-production, Kung Fu Yoga, Jackie Chan is keen to explore more of India. According to a report, the global superstar is on the lookout for an Indian actress to play a pivotal role in the sequel to his 2016 Chinese-American comedy action film Skiptrace.
Chan, who is also co-producing the film, has his team looking vigorously for an Indian face. Buzz has it that actresses Sobhita Dhulipala and Tillotama Shome are the top contenders for the role. Auditions are in progress and some actresses are said to have given it a shot.
Chan has long been a popular star across the globe and his popularity in India only grew further after he picked his maiden Indo-Chinese co-production Kung Fu Yoga. The film has Sonu Sood playing the antagonist, while Amyra Dastur plays one of the key characters.
Before Kung Fu Yoga, Chan had worked with Mallika Sherawat, who had a brief role in The Myth (2005). Perhaps, both Dhulipala and Shome would hope that Skiptrace offers them a meaningful role.
Skiptrace, which will be released in India on 2 September, has Chan playing a detective on the hunt for a notorious criminal.
