Actor Vinay Pathak says he is focusing his creative energy on film direction and will be making an announcement about his directorial debut soon.
"Direction is something that I am focusing on right now. Hopefully, I will direct a film soon," Pathak told IANS. "I have a couple of scripts and I am working on it. They are almost close to getting ready. So you all will hear an announcement soon. All I can say is that my film will be high on content."
Pathak, who has also done a stint in television, is known for his work in films like Khosla Ka Ghosla! (2006), Dasvidaniya (2008), Chalo Dilli (2011), Johnny Gaddaar (2007) and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008).
As an actor, Pathak said he is not happy with the kind of scripts coming his way nowadays. "If I was happy, I would be seen in lots of films," he said. "I am not happy, and by virtue of that, I am called choosy and picky... Please don't blame me. The same kind of things keep coming my way. I can't keep doing the same role over and over again. I rather prefer to wait for the right one."
The actor's new release will be Island City, which also features Tannishtha Chatterjee, Amruta Subhash and Chandan Roy Sanyal. Directed by Ruchika Oberoi, it is scheduled to release on 2 September.
