Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput couldn’t contain their joy and excitement when they were blessed with a baby girl on Friday, 26 August. The couple was showered with congratulatory messages on social media by a large number of Hindi film celebrities and Kapoor's fan following.

The actor was spotted yesterday moving outside the hospital with his little one. In the pictures, Kapoor is seen carrying the infant with utmost care in his arms, while a woman from his staff is keeping people at bay. Just before Kapoor left with the baby, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan was seen leaving the hospital after paying a visit to the actor.

The actor’s mother Neelima Azeem is on cloud nine as she always wanted a girl as her first grandchild. She said, “This is the first baby. I am a new grandmother. This is a new phase and I can’t explain how it feels like. I really wanted a granddaughter, so I am absolutely thrilled and I feel so blessed. I have two sons and now I have a granddaughter.”

Now, the latest development is that the name of the new member has been finalised, but will be announced by the parents later. Azeem revealed, “There is a name for the baby, but it’s the parents’ prerogative to announce it. The most interesting thing I can add here is that I thought of the same name as Shahid and Mira. Once Mira and the baby are back home I plan to visit them as often as I can. I miss her already.”
