Ranbir Kapoor’s love for football is well-documented and the actor had even invested in the Mumbai franchise of the Indian Super League. Kapoor might extend his passion to the silver screen, too, with reports suggesting that he could sign up for a Shoojit Sircar film that will be based on the beautiful game.

As per a report in newspaper Times of India, Kapoor had recently met Sircar at the latter's office where they discussed about a potential project. Buzz has it that the script in question is a sports film.

Sircar is said to have proposed this script to Kapoor much earlier, but the latter had been committed to the Sanjay Dutt biopic and Ayan Mukherji’s next.

While Kapoor is likely to begin shooting for the Dutt biopic first, there is no clarity on when Mukerji’s film goes on the floors, where Kapoor is reportedly playing a superhero.

The actor’s last hit was Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013). Though Sircar’s films are critically acclaimed, they are not known to set the box-office on fire. One will have to wait and watch if this potential sports film will give Kapoor's career the desired kick.
