Refurbished Mohenjo Daro promo with Hrithik as ' the saviour' released

Makers add few new scenes to the promo in order to make the film look more appealing.

The buzz around Mohenjo Daro hasn't been entirely positive. After the initial favourable response to the inaugural poster, Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro has been criticised for having a unexciting trailer. Add to it the usual ‘tweaking-of-history’ stories and competition with Akshay Kumar’s Rustom. Mohenjo Daro has been struggling to make the right noises before its release.

Speaking at the launch of Mohenjo Daro, director Ashutosh Gowariker had urged all to not judge a film purely by its trailer.  Well, fair argument sir but Gowariker and his team have now unveiled a refurbished promo, one that looks much more convincing, more pacy than the inaugural trailer.

While the core elements of the first trailer have been retained, gone is the flying crocodile, romantic scenes with Pooja ‘Chaani’ Hegde, Kabir Bedi’s clichéd royal introduction, and the white barbarians.

The highlight of the new 47 second promo is the blink-and-miss cry of Kishori Shahane and a  beware warning, perhaps to Maham (Kabir Bedi) by Suhasini Mulay’s character. What works in this promo’s favour is its pace, the visuals and dialogues seem to be flowing in one tangent.

Billed as ‘the Saviour’ or Hero promo, Hrithik himself tweeted about it

Unforutanatrly, the new promo has thus far got barely 6300 views, since it was published yesterday. Hrithik and Gowariker will hope that come 12 August, the audience flows in huge numbers to get a taste of history.
